After graduating from Parsons School of Design’s A.A.S program in Fashion Design, Sam Spector held the Fashion Editor position at OUT magazine where he styled fashion shoots and shot celebrity cover stories. During this time, he appeared on the pilot episode of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” as the grooming expert. After OUT, he went on to consult on visual presentation for The Wet Seal, Inc, directing the look of the windows for the brand corporate-wide. Spector was the Wardrobe Designer on Kristin Cavallari’s (The Hills) television show for UPN “Get This Party Started.” He has styled two seasons of the Hickey Freeman ad campaign as well as ads for Martha Stewart, J.Jill, L’Oreal, Macy’s,Pepsi, Marlboro, and he continues to work with Target on their men’s and women’s editor events and look books (Isaac Mizrahi for Target, Paul and Joe for Target, Erin Fetherston for Target) and recently consulted on a project for Nike. Sam has styled fashion shows for Elle Girl and has worked on editorials for Esquire, Gotham, LA Confidential, Interview, Flaunt, Best Life, Mens Fitness, O: The Oprah Magazine, Teen Vogue, among others. He has worked with countless celebrities including Robert Downey Jr., Mike Meyers, Mischa Barton, Taraji P. Henson, Zoe Saldana, Amy Ryan, Eve Best, Javier Bardem, Kevin Spacey, Denis Leary, Forest Whitaker, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew Broderick, Terrence Howard, Ethan Hawke, Lance Armstrong, and Gavin Rossdale. Spector has served as the Market Editor of Esquire’s Big Black Book for three seasons. He resides in New York City.
