COOL DAD ROAD TRIP
With a global pandemic threatening our comfort level with air travel, many of us are packing our cars or even Airstreams and hitting the road. We collaborated with Nic Screws, a Florida-based creative, stylist, and mom, on what to pack when you decide it’s time to pack the whole family into the car and get out of dodge. Nic is a former fashion editor with a strong background in men’s style (Fun fact: She worked with Sam at Esquire’s Big Black Book).
By essence of their existence, Nic’s husband, Mark Dorison, and their 3-year-old daughter, Kai, contributed to this piece--as they are all gearing up for their first road trip as a family of three to Asheville, North Carolina in mid-September. Nic is optimistic about this 9-hour-plus adventure. Admittedly, she can say this because she’s the mom and her primary job is preventing toddler road rage by passing out pre-packaged snacks and rotating the electronic devices until they get there. But she salutes you, Dads, and she hopes this style guide helps make packing 3% more tolerable.
Beyond fashion, her passions include motherhood, equality, and memes about “doing the work.” The last show she binge-watched was “Schitt’s Creek” (SIMPLY THE BEST!) and she earnestly shares that she is awaiting the release of “The Kissing Booth 3” on Netflix.
Nic’s message to all you guys out there: VOTE!
